The War on Drugs destroys lives and the economy while accomplishing absolutely nothing, other than overflowing the prisons and forcing violent offenders onto the street. As a result, in California we spend more for our prisons than we do for our schools.
Both certified courses visit some of Golden Gate Park's best views. The scenic 5K course is relatively flat with a couple of easy hills and no repeats. The Mile course is flat and fast.

: The Jefferson Mile starts 8:30
AM at the Bowling Green and the 5K starts 9:00 AM on JFK, near the Conservatory
of Flowers in
Golden Gate Park. Race day registration is from 7:30 AM on
JFK Drive at Middle Drive. in
Golden Gate Park. Both are
USA Track & Field
(USATF) certified courses. The mile is a flat, fast loop while the 5K has a
couple of mild hills around Stow Lake. There is Parking in and around the park
and new underground parking at 10th Avenue & Fulton Street.
Prize drawings and prizes for winners and the top pledge collector.
USA Track & Field (USATF) Certified - Awards 3 deep in all divisions.
Age divisions: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
